The Kocour Brewery has brewed beer in more than 10 beer styles. The styles are distinguished by different history, use of ingredients (hops, malts, water), types of fermentation (top,bottom) and in the past years also by cooperation of brewers from different parts of the world.
There are over 100 beer styles in the world. With Kocour you could for example have tasted a dark top fermented special with coffee flavor, wheat top fermented beer of Bavarian weizen type, top fermented pale ale made with English hops or its re-incarnation from USA using American hops with strong citrus flavor. Last year you could have tasted Belgium type beer of “saison” category in the summer and “abbey” style in winter.
Normally we brew pale and dark lager of Czech type. In cooperation with a Slovak mini brewery in Rožňava we brew smoked beer V3 Rauch. In cooperation with another partner from Hungary, we brewed V3 Tokaj beer with pomace of Tokaji wine. Another example of international cooperation was Kocour Ken, a recipe which was prepared for us by Ken Duncan beer, the Head brewer of the Scottish Inveralmond brewery. Last fall we brewed the first batch of Kocour Samuraj, the author,a Japanese brewer Toshi Ishii is well experienced in brewing bitter pale ales. Recently we have started cooperation with the German Brewery Bergquell-Brauerei Löbau, producer of top fermented Porters.
